Key Stage 3


At KS3 learners follow a scheme of work that follows the requirements set out by the National Curriculum. All pupils are awarded with a National Curriculum Level (Level 3-7) at the End of Key Stage 3.

At KS4 learners continue to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding in the subject and work towards their GCSE in Music. Pupils follow the WJEC GCSE Music course. Topics studied include Music for Stage and Screen, Music in Wales, Music Evolution and Structure, Form and Devices.
Throughout every year group pupils are encouraged to become confident Musicians learning skills in Composition, Performance and Appraising.
The Music Department is well resourced with Keyboards, Drum Kits, Percussion and Guitars. We also have our own Computer suite
At Llangwatg we have a number of instrumental teachers including a String, Brass, Vocal, Woodwind and Guitar teacher
Llangatwg offers many Clubs for pupils to take part in including a Year 7 choir, Pop Choir, String Ensemble, Musicals and Chamber Choir
