From the 1st April 2013 Neath Port Talbot , Swansea and Bridgend Safeguarding Children Boards became the Western Bay Safeguarding Children Board (WBSCB). The regionalisation was in response to the proposed Social Services (Wales) Bill.

Relevant organisations in each area co-operate to safeguard and promote the welfare of children to make the three areas within the Western Bay a safe and happy place for children and young people.
