School Uniform 2015

To comply with our uniform requirements pupils must wear items of distinctive clothing that clearly identify them as Llangatwg pupils.

  These include:

Plain white polo shirt with the school badge.

Plain black hoodie or zipped hoodie with the school badge.

Plain black trousers. Girls may wear plain black skirts. (just above knee height) if they wish.

Plain black school shoes. No trainers.

Top coats should be plain and dark in colour.

Please note that no other sweaters, hoodies or polo shirts should be worn.

This also includes such items as cardigans, zippers, training tops, jumpers, sweaters etc. as they are not part of the school uniform.

Some pupils say they wear such items as top coats. This will no longer be acceptable.

Denim jackets, leather coats and brightly coloured coats are not acceptable.

Physical Education and Games

Physical Education and Games lessons are compulsory for all pupils and sports kit is required to take part in these lessons. The only exception to taking part in the physical aspect of the lesson is where a pupil is injured or suffering from a long term illness.

In these cases, parents are requested to send a brief note to the PE staff explaining the circumstances, along with a Doctorís certificate, where appropriate.

However, these pupils are still expected to bring their kit to wear in the lesson to officiate, coach and assist as far as possible.

Pupils must remove all items of jewellery before taking part in PE/Games for Health and Safety reasons.

The following kit is required for all pupils and should be worn during every PE or Games lesson:

GAMES/PE:

School PE top green or white, school shorts/skort, school socks, black tracksuit bottoms (if cold),
track shoes or trainers/rugby/football boots should be worn when required.

SWIMMING:

Costume and towel

SHOWERS:

A plastic bag is required to protect all other items from wet kit after lessons.

The Headteacher will make any final decision about a pupilís appearance, for example, in relation to the use of make-up, jewellery, hair colour and style.

Facial and body jewellery is not permitted at any time due to the significant health and safety risks it might present.
